Steve Saunders
Mandolin, Guitar, Low Whistle
I started off learning the guitar at 16 yrs old, self taught, enjoying developing my individual style and playing with other musicians.
In 2001 I attended The Scots Music Group in Edinburgh learning guitar, tin whistle and low tenor whistle and mandolin and banjo. I played in the SMG Ceilidh band, attended traditional music sessions in and around Edinburgh and with friends formed the band Howff Music.
I also ran mixed music classes at Alva Academy, organised collaborations with other musicians and bands for performance at various venues and engagements.
Met Stuart in 2024 at a performance and made an immediate connection and the rest is history. Working as a duo, we have a unique fusion of musical styles with roots in the Celtic Spirit of music and sound.
Stuart Williamson
Guitar
I studied classical guitar at the London College of Music and in my earlier days, played extensively around Edinburgh in restaurants and small theatres. I was also involved with a touring musical theatre group.
Taking a break from music to pursue a career outside music I am now back pursuing my love of folk music with Celtic-Spirit with passion and vigour!
Steve and I met in 2024 recognising as we played music together at various venues we realised we had a unique style of interpretation, interweaving melodies and harmonies together and performing some of my own compositions too.
We have performed at a variety of venues St Marys Cathedral Edinburgh, Abbot House, Fire Station studios, Dunfermline and hosted and played at numerous folk sessions around Scotland.
